Exchange Words is not curated. Exchange Words is not an open mic event. Its a collaborative group whose structure is developed by its participants, and whose productions are organised by its performers. In order to perform you don’t have to convince anyone, but rather come to our meetings and rehearsals.
Our meetings occur every Sunday at 4PM in Exchange Dublin, Mock Alley, Temple Bar.
Each show is organised roughly on a first come first served basis, in order to achieve a balance of new performers, performance variety etc. The exception to this are standup comedians, who appear at Exchange Words by invitation.
If you’re interested in performing at our next event (around December 17th), or our subsequent event in January, we’d recommend coming by our next meeting.
At our weekly meetings we organise the running of the group, elect the next shows MC, and facilitate collaboration and rehearsal. At our performances we provide the possibility of using audiovisual accompaniment and stretching the traditional modes of performance. Exchange Words provides a unique opportunity to develop new spoken words performances in an all ages, alcohol free environment.
